Romney sees opportunity as Obama poll numbers drop...his negative numbers drop sets him as GOP favourite

(Ben smith-Politico)...Mitt Romney is, at this point, far, far ahead in the 2012 stakes. He has a real organization, he's raising more money than anyone else -- his PAC revealed the details of a $1.6 million first six month today -- and he's spreading the money around wisely.

The most important feature of his campaign, though, is that for all the pro forma words to the contrary, he's clearly and unambiguously running. All his potential rivals are making up their minds, and hedging their bets. And when they do jump in, they'll be even farther behind.

From Examiner:....Meanwhile, he is also busy campaigning for Republican candidates, hosting fund raisers and appearing at business conferences. There is little doubt that as far as Romney is concerned, the race for the White House in 2012 has begun.
