Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Deliver Major Policy Address at Bar-Ilan University's Begin-Sadat (BESA) Center

On Sunday Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will deliver his much-anticipated major policy address, his first since taking office, at Bar-Ilan University's Begin-Sadat (BESA) Center for Strategic Studies.

Prime Minister Netanyahu is widely expected to present the citizens of Israel with his vision for peace and outline where he intends to lead the country in the realm of foreign policy, diplomacy and security. It is the long-awaited speech in which the Prime Minister has promised to lay out to Israelis and the international community the State of Israel's platform on the future of peace negotiations.

Prime Minister Netanyahu's decision to deliver his address at Bar-Ilan University, under the academic umbrella of the BESA Center, follows U.S. President Barack Obama's historic speech last week at Cairo University in Egypt.

The BESA Center is recognized around the world as one of Israel's leading think-tanks. "Prime Minister Netanyahu's decision to deliver his momentous address at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies is, undoubtedly, a reflection of the respect he accords this institution and the intellectual role that BESA has played in the debate over issues such as the Oslo process, Palestinian statehood, and the two-state paradigm" said Bar-Ilan University President Prof. Moshe Kaveh.

Bar-Ilan University and the BESA Center will host more than 300 select government, diplomatic and academic invitees for the milestone address, which will be broadcast live around the world by the major networks on Sunday, June 14, at 8:00 p.m. local time (1:00 p.m. EDT) from Bar-Ilan University's Leslie and Susan Gonda (Goldschmied) Multidisciplinary Brain Research Center. Prime Minister Netanyahu's speech will also be broadcast live on the Bar-Ilan University website: www.biu.ac.il

Live Broadcast on Sunday 13:00 EST
