Huckebee Damage replay - Huckabee Attacks NCNA Panel;calls Romney a Expert

Mike Huckabee has made a scathing attack (in a press release) against the National Council For A New America, specifically its panel of experts, which includes Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush and Bobby Jindal.

It was “sad day” in Republican politics when “we think it is necessary to form a ‘listening group’ to find out what Americans think we should be fighting for.” “Our problem is not lack of ‘experts,’ but too many of them and not enough attention to the hard working people in our communities that aren’t connected to the Beltway, but to the heartland,”. “Frankly, the party was in pretty good shape then and can be again, but Ronald Reagan didn’t summarily dismiss values voters like this new group of ‘experts’ has by not listing any of the issues that still matter to many of those common Americans this group wants to listen to,

Personally, my husband & I were disgusted to hear Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney & the others of their group talk. It seems they have lost sight of what real conservative Americans want & need - a REAL CONSERVATIVE candidate! There are WAY too many moderates & liberals now, and we don't want them! We want someone who will stand up for us, because, in the last election, NO ONE did. WE ARE NOT moving to the middle. If we had been given a candidate like Mike Huckabee, conservatives would have backed him 100% & the Republican party would still have the White House. If one of those clowns in that group are nominated, we will lose again! If they want to win so badly, let them run as Dems or Ind. & compete w/Obama. They will never get our votes if they compromise to do so.

I appreciate the concern people have that we must never compromise our values. I agree, but listening and sharing old and proven values to solve new challenges is the very test that gives established values their enduring credibility. I will always hold to those values, but I do not want to become a party of self righteous rats in a small cage who eat each other. In jockeying for political position or radio ratings some people seek to cut the legs off fellow marching republicans. I could be brutally blunt, but perhaps that only adds to the republican feeding frenzy.

Carol in PA - It is because of people like you that we are in the situation we are. Huckabee had no chance of winning and had he dropped out - we wouldn't be where we are.

Even Rush Limbaugh - one of the most conservative voices out there - promoted Mitt Romney and NOT Mike Huckabee.

Please, Mitt stands for conservative values, think not?? Go to his freeandstrongamericapac and reread Mitt's very own words..If anyone is the expert, it is Mitt..That of which I am positive..Also,it is not only what one says, watch what one does..Check the record of Mitt's doings since he suspended, not quit, the primary..NCNA is in my mind a great visible way for the Republicans to show working together for the good of the People...Mitt even stressed that, "Govt. is the People." Listen, share, and teach. Sounds very sensible to me...Go Mitt and NCNA, let's be proactive......

Do you remember why HUCKABEE was #6 on Judicial Watch’s list of the TEN MOST WANTED CORRUPT POLITICIANS OF 2007? “Huckabee’s career has been tainted by 14 ethics complaints and a volley of questions about his integrity, ranging from his management of campaign cash to his use of a nonprofit organization to subsidize his income to his destruction of state computer files on his way out of the governor’s office. And what was Governor Huckabee’s response to these ethics allegations? Rather than cooperating with investigators, Huckabee sued the state ethics commission twice and attempted to shut the ethics process down.

Huckabee’s slam claiming that the NCNA is ‘filled with experts that aren’t paying enough attention to Heartland Americans’ and was formed to ‘find out what Americans need to fight for’ is absolutely laughable! Did he even read the mission statement contained in the NCNA’s announcement letter? Evidently not. Huckabee is pathetic and vindictive.

The formation of the NCNA is a step in the right direction.
