(NyforMitt).Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is “in the mix” of figures who could potentially stabilize a flagging national Republican Party, former Bush Administration chief of staff Andy Card told the News Service Wednesday.
“We’re in wandering mode right now. I don’t think there’s any one leader of the Republican Party,” he said after a State House service for the late Massachusetts House Speaker George Keverian. “I don’t buy that Rush Limbaugh is the leader, or [RNC Chairman] Michael Steele is the leader, or somebody else. I think there’s lots of ’em, and Romney is right in the mix.”
Card said the national GOP was “in wandering mode” and suggested that “this is a time for all of our leaders who aspire to be the leader to audition
